Fixing up Houses for free!

The Barrio Hollywood Neighborhood Association met in El Rio Neighborhood Center last Thursday, 26 January 2005, for our annual meeting. President Margaret McKenna greeted a group of about 35 neighbors and gave a summary of BHNA's Annual Report: 2004 in Retrospect.
We have printed a synopsis of the Annual Report for you below:

REBUILDING TOGETHER
The Barrio Hollywood Neighborhood Association (BHNA), had a successful 2004 partnering with other community groups. We partnered with Rebuilding Together, which used to be called, "Christmas in April, " to fix over 16 houses for our neighbors. Rebuilding Together uses donated house materials and volunteers to fix up houses for free.
It's a great program for everyone in the neighborhood. IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE THAT NEEDS HOUSE REPAIRS, PLEASE CALL US @
294-7765.

The University of Arizona partnered with us in October, and fixed up 10 houses, which included a roof and plumbing on some, at no cost to the home owner. WE ARE STILL ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR HOME REPAIRS AT NO COST TO YOU. The criteria: you must own your own house, live in that house, and not make a lot of money. Want to talk about the program? Call Jocelyn at Rebuilding Together, 294 7765.
